About me
My name is Dániel Zelenák.
I am a jazz guitarist, but jazz is not the only type of music I play. I believe I can provide high quality in any genre if I know one of the most complex systems ever invented in music. Jazz in particular is similar to the way our lives work. All of our moments are influenced by some regularity that we believe to be a series of coincidences. Seemingly, it’s all about unexpected events, an improvisation of the present moment is happening and is united in an enormous, universal network. We practice when we get up, go to bed, walk, eat, think, when we are happy or unhappy.
All these together make jazz.

Instruction
Learning music is not based on illogical cramming. When I teach beginners or professional musicians, I go back to the basics of classical music and teach the regularities of improvisation. We make progress by small, logical steps through a series of exciting discoveries.
I’ll do my part and I help you progress but you are the most important element. If you practice every day, you will experience tremendous progress with effect on your life, your self-knowledge.

I organize my own workshops and courses in Hungarian and English, I’m also happy to be a guest lecturer of your music camp and courses. Not only guitarists are welcome to these occasions; you can come along if you’re interested in the theory and practice of improvisation, regardless of your instrument and music genre.

Music-driven image
In 2020, based on the illustrations of the excellent graphic artist László Herbszt, I invented an alternative musical language, which became the basis of the new, music-driven logo of the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra. At the request of the graphic studio Brand Bar, together with them, we created a complete image-music language for the orchestra, which became the symbol system of the complete renewal of the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra in 2021. Since then, the image has won several national and international awards.
